Today

Today I had the day off! (for reals this time!) This last Saturday I forgot to transfer my schedule for that day via my phone to my on wall calendar! so I was today stoked for my unday off that I ended up going into work for hehe! Well today I had the day off and I began with it by having Emma walk all over my face @ 6:30 AM trying to awake me and Louis. Then I got up around 10 and did the Insanity work out! Yet the best part of the day was being able to hang out in the back of Dads shop after my work out with him and the dogs. ( no cell phones no internet) just me and papa! it was great!!

The Last Lecture

So one of my summer reads is The Last Lecture. It is wrote by a College Professor Randy Pausch. A brilliant man who is a computer scientist who has gone through life chasing his childhood dreams. His biggest dream was to be a Disney Imagineer. He was able to take a sabbatical and find loop holes of why this dream internship was a good idea for a computer scientist who is a virtual reality guru. The reason the book is called the last lecture is because he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was asked to present a lecture to his peers about anything he finds impact-full . He was brave enough to pick up and move his family in the midst of his sickness so his family could be closer to family and have a better life after he passed. He decided it was his duty to give his lecture on Childhood dreams. I have about 90 more pages to go but I am told at the end of his lecture he tells his peers you think this lecture is for you, for my legacy or whatever you think it is about, But really it is for his 6 year old son and 18 month old daughter to know their father whom they never will be able to get to know. He has awesome insights....

If you don't have time to read the book I really encourage watching the lecture!

TGIF

Today was a wonderful sunny day. Dad mowed the lawn and I ran errands in town then came home to sit under our walnut tree and read a new dieting book.

The book that I am enjoying my Aunty has been following and she looks amazing!! the Diet is called the Dukan diet. It is a french version of the Atkins diet basically that focuses on eating lots of protein. I am hopeful!!
Dad finished mowing the lawn and I surprised him with an early fathers day gift. he was been wanting a mini fridge that he could fit into his hunting/camping cargo trailer that he renovated. I put the mini fridge in the driveway with a red bow. He was very delighted and was in the back of his cargo trailer for an hour tinkering with everything and placing things as so with his new addition. He was eager to show mom when she first pulled into the drive way pulling her back to the shop into the trailer :)

We all ended the day enjoying the weather with the pups on the patio

What a wonderful Summer Day

Working Girl

Now back in Canby, I have been doing alot of work around the house settling things in. I have been stuck here for almost 3 weeks straight, I can count on one hand of how many times I have left..Cabin Fever, yes! On my down time I have been on the computer finishing up the last finals I had and applying madly to different places of employment for a summer job. I decided to E-mail one of my old managers @ Thriftway in town. I received a message back almost immediately, saying we want and would love to have you back, when can you start?
YAY! that was easier then I thought it would be to find a job! I start again on the 22nd so I am kinda excited to have something to get me out of the house.

Transition

So these last 2 weeks have been jammed with packing...moving...unpacking...moving...packing...unpacking....re-arranging...I find myself relocated in Canby for this mean time! I have been bar-tending in Monmouth @ Chase Bar and Grill and Arena Sports Bar (both owned by the same owner). I grew to enjoy this job very much! The co-workers I met I grew very strong relationships with many were WOU grads! I can say that it has shown me a back bone to be who I am...because I was able to apply myself and my back bone on people who may or may not have been under the influence of alcohol!, needless to say..I realized what I say goes! (within reason)!
But..I am now 22 and realized my heart lays within my country roots. I moved out at 18 and trialed and error-ed myself through life to come and realize I am who I always have been, yet I also realize not anyone can not come to that conclusion without experiencing life. I think I was a freshman in college and my brother sent me a picture of him and myself when I was almost a year old (I think this picture was on myspace some years ago). But he knew I was having a hard time that freshman year. The picture was basically him holding me giving me some sort of punishment (a noogy to be precise). I cried then, yet I laugh now because nothing is different---> brother breaks ice---> sister breaks rules--->we all learn.

Another Summer

Here I am finding my old blog that I never posted it on as I wish I had or was planning on...so here is goes... I have decided that Canby is my place of choice this summer. I am curious if anywhere is a pleasant place to be in the summer. I ask myself that question, yet when I get back into the school year, how? and why? do I miss summer so much!!!
Calvin has moved to Sacramento with his lovely fiance Katie and pup Mac. They have about 2.7 acres outside town in a lovely little 80's house. Dad and I went down to help them move in 2 weeks ago, bitter sweat!

a Summer in Monmouth

I am stuck in this crazy little town after my summer classes have finished. I wish they offered more summer classes for the sake of my sanity. I find it impossible to get a plausible job, I tell my roommates I may apply fast food (JOKE!). It has been my roommate and I here with my pup Louie. We have a nice little pool in our back yard!
Erin, Shannon, and Emily enjoying the cool water

I took two classes this summer, Love and Attachment theories a Psy 589 class and Sociology of the Family a intermediate level Social science class. I worked really hard and I received A's in both.
Shannon and I have been craving Red Robin for the past three weeks so we decided to meet my mom for a early dinner there today! it was yummy!
Louie and I have been staying cool running the AC all day waking up to a cold house! I think I will make a trip home to Canby I miss my Papa!
